Handicap International
Handicap International (HI) is a global, non profit organisation that aims to help disabled people, especially in areas affected by war and poverty.
HI's work falls in following areas:
- Prevention
- Rehabilitation
- Inclusion
- Capacity Building
- Emergencies
As consequence of its efforts, HI was awarded the Nansen prize by UNHCR in 1996. A year later, in 1997, HI received Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of their work as co-founder of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.
