Last Saturday, 18 March 2006 - Ten young Scouts and a Scout Leader were tragically killed in the region of Caldas, Colombia during a freak landslide that was caused by heavy rains in the mountains surrounding their campsite. The objective of World Health Day is to raise global awareness of a specific health theme and highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization (WHO) – with whom World Scouting has held Consultative Status since 1987 and joined in a Memorandum of Understanding in 1997.
