Scouts and Guides awarded the First Parliamentary Prize in Rome
Geneva, 17 Nov. 2005 – Every year on 20 November the international community celebrates the Convention of the Rights of the Child. The Scout and the Guide Movements will reconfirm their commitment to this cause and on this occasion they will also receive the First Parliementary Prize for Childhood (2005).

ICMYO, the International Coordination Meeting of Youth Organisations, gathering twenty six international youth organisations and regional youth platforms on behalf of millions of children and young people met in Mollina, Spain on the 10th of July to reaffirm their commitment to the United Nations World Programme of Action for Youth and the Millennium Development Goals. ICMYO contributes to building up a global partnership for development as stated in MDG8.
GENEVA, 8 April 2005 – UNICEF and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) are pleased to announce the launch of a new formal alliance to promote the participation of young people in decision-making processes at all levels (global, regional and local). The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was held at the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe in Geneva, Switzerland. The headquarters for WOSM are based in Geneva.

Eschborn, Germany, GTZ Headquarters – 27 April 2005
Dr. Eduardo Missoni, the Secretary General of World Organization of the Scout Movement and Dr. Cornelia Richter, Director General of the Development and Planning Department of GTZ signed the Memorandum of Understanding between GTZ and WOSM. The evaluation of potentials and identification of the fields of cooperation has been analyzed by WOSM Project Officer Zurab Khamashuridze, from Georgia, who is on a 6-month project internship.
