Roverway meeting
Roverway is an event offered by the Europe Region WAGGGS and the European Scout Region for Rovers and Rangers aged between 16 to 22. It will be held for the third time in 2009 and this time it is organised by the Icelandic Boy and Girl Scout Association. This is a great opportunity for Scouts from all over Europe to come to Iceland, experience a unique country while taking part in a international event.
Each European Guide and Scout Association has been asked to appoint a "Jambassador" to be their contact person to the Roverway planning team and to help to promote Roverway in their Association. At the end of May "Jambassadors" from over 20 Associations gathered in Ulfljotsvatn Scout centre to get further information about Roverway. This is a way to make them better prepared to promote Roverway at home. The "Jambassadors" were very happy about the meeting and went home very enthusiastic about Roverway and hoping to bring many participants to Iceland in 2009.
The 2nd International Planning Team Meeting also took place during the weekend, with the participation of the Roverway core team, and the WOSM and WAGGGS Committee members and staff responsible for the event.
