Romanian Scouts win 10,000 euros!
On the 1st of September the Romanian Scouts were voted the NGO that makes the most impact in Romanian society and were awarded with a prize of almost 10,000 euros. Ionut Oprea, Director of Romania's largest blog agency, launched the campaign in which people could vote online between the 20-30 August.
More than 40 NGOs were nominated in 5 different categories including: Internet, education/students, special social categories, ecology and development of Romanian society.
With the most votes, the National Organisation of the Romanian Scouts were declared the winner of the campaign and will benefit from the 10,000 Euro donation which was offered by www.marketonline.ro.
The campaign manager, Radu Seuche, said: “Running this campaign needed a lot of work because all of our competitors are powerful NGOs but the results are very rewarding because it is an important recognition of our role in Romania.”
President of the Romanian Scouts Organisation, Sorin Boros assures that the winnings will be put to good use, stating that “the money will be used to develop and support the organisational management level because we know the only way to develop as an organisation in Romania that is more involved in the community is to have strong young project managers with expertise in community projects.”
The prize was awarded live on National Television on Monday 3rd September to Radu Seuche and Bianca Nesiu who were representing the Romanian Scout Association - Cercetaşii României.
