Regional team visits Vietnam
After nearly 10 years, it was a golden opportunity for the regional team consist of Regional Scout Committee member Mr Prakorb Mukura and Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed to visit Vietnam early part of March 2008.
In this particular visit, the team met the key Scout Leaders of the two leading Scout groups and some small groups operating within Ho Chi Minh City and encouraged them to work together. The team also had a chance to see over 1,000 Scouts at the Than Dan Park doing different patrol activities. Here, they've learned that a regular Scouting activities in a large number is being done every week where parents come and also observe.
Simultaneously, a separate team from the newly-created ASEAN Scout Association for Regional Cooperation (ASARC) arrived in Ho Chi Minh City for a two-day visit headed by Dr Azrul Azwar together with Dr Amoroso Katamsi of Indonesia and Mr Nasaruddin Shamshuddin of Malaysia to encourage the Scout groups and to personally invite them to attend the forthcoming ASEAN Jamboree in October 2008 to be held in Indonesia.
