Korea hosts 2007 International Agoonoree
A good mix of young girls and boys with special needs were the participants of the 23rd Agoonoree which was hosted by Korea Scout Association (KSA) from 24-27 May 2007 at the beautiful island of Jeju.
Korea Scout Association (KSA) has been organizing Agoonorees alternately with the Girl Scouts on a yearly basis. And this year, KSA initiated the agoonoree for international participation and was able to invite five countries namely Republic of China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Pakistan. Ms Luz Taray, Director for Communications, attended the event as the Asia-Pacific Regional Office representative.
In order to give the participants a taste of good Scouting experience, both onsite and offsite, activities were designed based on their mental and physical abilities as well as to their creativity and enthusiasm. Some good example of onsite activities were textile printing, necklace crafting, wood bug crafting and survival shooting. On the other hand, offsite activities include educational visits to Jeju's well-preserved folklore museums and nature parks.
President of KSA Mr Lee Won Hee thanked the organizers and leaders for their passion and courage and wished the young participants health and happiness.
