Fellows Celebrate Centenary

On the last day of the first century of Scouting, join 40,000 scouts from 150 countries in the world for the Centenary Jamboree.

Led by His Majesty the King of Sweden, some 250 Baden-Powell Fellows and friends celebrated the Centenary of Scouting with three days of events in the United Kingdom, at the end of July, early August.

A photo gallery of the events can be viewed here.

Highlights included:

• Visiting the World Scout Jamboree to share in the activities of 40,000 Scouts and staff from 160 countries.

• Enjoying a gala dinner in one of England's oldest hotels. Fifty new Baden-Powell Fellows, and new members of the Honours Programme were recognized by His Majesty.

• Joining about 500 Scouts from the UK county of Surry at their camp, Walton Firs, on the 100th Anniversary of Scouting, 1st August.

• Visiting the prestigious Charterhouse School in Godalming where Scouting's founder spent time developing his Scouting in the woods.
Wednesday 1 August.

The Jamboree was amazing, but the local Scout camp was even more special as yet another example that the heart of Scouting is at the local level. Scouts and B-P Fellows alike had a wonderful time.
