Uganda Scouts call on Government to protect forests

At the closing ceremony of a 4 day zonal Scout camp that has recently ended at Mukono Parents High School, in Uganda, the Zonal Commissioner Moses Wambale Mustafa called on Ugandan authorities to save Mabira forest as it is like their lifeline.

The event under the theme “Consequences of Indiscipline”, saw the participation of over 100 pupils with 28 girls from various primary schools.
The Uganda Government is considering giving away Mabira Forest to an investor who will use it for sugar plantation. Ugandan Scouts are advocating for the protection of environment as theme for the Centenary of Scouting.
