Carlos Neves from Portugal wins Jota-Joti Logo Contest 2012

JOTA-JOTI 2012 Logo Contest took place over March-April and had a tremendous response in terms of participants sending their designs from all over the world. Overall 142 entries were received from 34 countries. Highest number of entries (26) were submitted by Scouts from Indonesia (Gerakan Pramuka), our largest National Scout Organization in terms of membership.

22 year old Scout, Mr. Carlos Neves from Federação Escutista de Portugal (NSO from Portugal) has won this year’s Contest. His logo design will be carried as the logo of the 2012 edition of Jamboree On The Air - Jamboree On The Internet (JOTA-JOTI) which will take place worldwide on 20-21 October this year. The winner was announced at the European Radio Scouting and Internet Seminar (ERSIS) that took place in Portugal from the 28th April to the 1st May 2012.

The theme of JOTA-JOTI 2012 is ‘How big is your world?’ and this was also the theme for the Logo Contest. Owing to the high responses this year, the JOTA-JOTI Logo Contest’s selection panel increased their shortlist to 16 from the usual 10 finalists chosen in the past. Going with the same thought and appreciating the high quality of the logo designs submitted, the Contest organisers have decided to give away five prizes to the top designs. The jury consisted of 10 JOTA-JOTI volunteers and World Scout Bureau staff members, notably including the Secretary General of WOSM, Luc Panissod, the World JOTA-JOTI Coordinators – Richard Middelkoop & Holger Sickenberg, and David Markwell & Dave Ross from the World Scout Shop, the sponsor of prizes for the winners.
