Forum - the 6th Edition – 18 - 22 March

The Forum on Youth Programme and Adult Resources, held every second year by the Region is an outstanding opportunity for National Commissioners and members of their teams to come together with their peers, sharing knowledge, experience, ideas, opinions, values and practical tools.

The next Forum in March will have a particular focus on assisting National Scout Associations in monitoring and improving their Youth Programme and Adult Resource strategies, in order to increase the impact of the work done at national level to support the action at local level.

The 6th Forum will in reality begin long before 18th March, and much closer to home than Portugal (for those who are not Portuguese). National Commissioners and their team members will really become part of this event even before it formally starts. There will be two opportunities for on-line communication when they will engage with the planning team and each other to put forward their ideas about the Forum agenda.

Participants attending the 6th Forum will not only need the support of their International Commissioner, but most importantly the support and cooperation from many others in the management structure of their NSO, particularly those others with responsibility for making decisions that can have a real affect on the impact of the work. The programme of the event will include a place for everyone to engage electronically so that strategies agreed will have the appropriate follow up and impact.

The venue will be Campo Aventura, near the preserved medieval town of Óbidos lying 80 km north of Lisbon, in Portugal. Dates for the Forum are 18 - 22 March 2009.
