Event for Chief Volunteers, Chief Guides, Chief Scouts, Chief Commissioners, Chairpersons or equivalent

Aim

The goal of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for networking, sharing and learning together for chief volunteers in an informal environment.

Dates

The event will be held from 21 – 23 November 2008. Participants should arrive at the venue by 18.00 on Friday, 21 November and may leave from lunchtime on Sunday 23 November.

Venue

The event will take place in the Pfadihuus Zürich, Rolf-Balsiger Strasse 8, 8044 Zürich, Switzerland. The venue offers shared dormitory accommodation and has additional meeting and plenary rooms. A team from Mouvement Scouts de Suisse will provide meals during the event.

Language

The event is informal and the working language is likely to be English with friendly French translations when is required.

Working methods
Guiding and Scouting methods will be used during the EVENT. This includes learning by doing, working in small groups, exercises, plenary and informal discussion. A specific focus will be given to informal exchanges of experiences in small groups. Participants are expected to participate actively during the event and be able to exchange their experiences.

Participation fee

The basic fee for participation including a bed in dormitory accommodation, all standard meals and breaks and the Saturday evening meal at an outside restaurant will cost CHF 150. For those wishing to stay in the nearby hotel, the participation fee will be CHF 370.

Visa
The participants are responsible for organising their travel and obtaining a visa if necessary. Please be aware, that it may take up to six weeks to obtain a visa. So please send your visa form with the application form in order to allow sufficient time for visas.
