What is the Friends of Scouting in Europe?

Friends of Scouting in Europe is an initiative from the European Scout Foundation. It enables its members to demonstrate their support for the ideals and aspirations of Scouting, by contributing financially to the Movement's growth in Europe.
It is an exciting initiative, with huge potential to provide real and visible support both to the European Scout Region and to the development and growth of our Movement in Central and Eastern Europe.

How does Friends of Scouting in Europe support European Scouting?

Through their contributions, the Friends of Scouting in Europe support the Movement in two ways:

• By supporting projects in Central and Eastern Europe to ensure Scouting's growth there.
• By providing capital for an investment fund for the development and growth of Scouting in Central and Eastern Europe.

What is the Friends of Scouting in Europe annual gathering?

The Friends of Scouting in Europe are all invited to an annual gathering. This is a very worthwhile weekend, which is an opportunity to meet other Friends of Scouting, to enjoy the hospitality of a European Scout Association, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe, and to discover their country. Each year, one project presented by the hosting National Scout Association is supported by the Friends of Scouting in Europe.

How can I become a Friend of Scouting in Europe?

Becoming a member of Friends of Scouting in Europe couldn't be easier. You can choose between annual or life membership, and payment is made either:

• by cheque: to the European Scout Foundation, P.O.Box 327, 1211 Geneva 4, Switzerland,

• by credit card: http://www.scout.org/donate. Select "Scouting in the European Scout Region", then "EURO", the amount, and your message.

Annual membership costs 150 Euros (or equivalent in other currencies) - which works out at only 12.5 Euros a month. Life membership is 2,000 Euros.
