The 6th General Assembly of the World Scout Parliamentary Union

The 6th General Assembly of the World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) will take place from 1-4 November 2010, in Seoul, South Korea. You will find attached a copy of the invitation which has been sent to the National Scout Parliamentary Associations of WOSM's member countries on behalf of the WSPU Office in Seoul.

All NSOs which have not already done so are asked to contact their respective Scout Parliamentarians without delay, in order to take the necessary steps to ensure that their country will be represented at the meeting. Although it is not a statutory meeting of WOSM, this event is nevertheless very important for the Movement.

Parliamentarians participating in the WSPU General Assembly will have the chance to debate the proposed themes, and to present positive and negative examples of Scout-related legislation. It is evident that this will require the involvement and support of NSOs, who are in the best position to identify the limitations to Scouting, based on current laws, as well as the advantage that may develop from specific legislative or regulatory provisions in support of the development of Scouting.
