His Majesty the King of Sweden, the World Scout Foundation’s Honorary Chairman, visited neighbouring Finland twice recently in support of Scouting.
In September representatives of the World Scout Foundation were official guests for the opening of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.

About 250 Baden-Powell Fellows and their friends gathered in Vienna, Austria in September 2008 for a gala dinner hosted by Prince Hans Adam II of Liechtenstein.
Members of the World Baden-Powell Fellowship were welcomed in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in May 2009. The event was held in conjunction with the Volvo around-the-world Ocean Race. The programme included a front-row seat to watch the in-harbor race from a classic motor-yacht; pancake breakfast with Scouts; meeting racing crew members; and a gala dinner.
An important part of all events of the Baden-Powell World Fellowship is to welcome new members and reocognize those who are progressing in the Honours Programme. His Majesty the King of Sweden, Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, presents membership insignia to each new member. Lars Kolind, Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, assists in the presentation of certificates.
