Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee Chairman Hon. Jejomar C Binay placed on 4th July 2008 the official logo of the National Association of Cambodian Scouts (NACS) at the Asia-Pacific Region reception area where the logos of the 25 member countries are displayed as a symbolic gesture after its admission to WOSM.

Cambodia now a member of world organization

The National Association of Cambodian Scouts (NACS) is now a full member of World Scouting family as the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) announced its admission on 1st July 2008.

In the Asia Pacific Region, NACS is the 24th full-fledged member. Scouting in Cambodia has a long history of over 70 years and had undergone various phases of development including its dissolution in 1964. It was in the late 1990s when consistent support from the Asia Pacific Region of WOSM sustained the revival of Scouting until it eventually qualified for world membership. NACS has some 4,000 female and male members.

NACS is sending an eight-member delegation to the 38th World Scout Conference in Korea this July to receive the certificate of membership. They will be joined by three other organizations which were granted WOSM membership.

Today, WOSM has now 160 National Scout Organizations with three other organizations recently admitted to WOSM – the Association of Scouts of Montenegro, the Scouts of Syria and the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine.
