Following an open process carried out in collaboration and agreement with the Interamerica Regional Scout Committee, Luc Panissod, Secretary General of World Scouting appointed Mr Raul Sanchez Vaca, from Mexico as the new Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau, Interamerican Regional Office.
Geneva, 10 March 2010 -- On the 8th of March, the security service of the United Kingdom submitted to the National Archives three bundles of declassified documents covering a period extending from 1937 to 1944. The World Scout Bureau acquired these documents for examination. These were essentially notes from the police declaring the coming and going of members of the Hitler Youth in the UK. Other parts are under the heading of the Nazi youth movement.
Geneva, 9th March 2010 – A working group on issues related to the growth of the Scout Movement, is being held at the World Scout Bureau since Monday. This meeting brings together the professional staff of the World and Regional Bureaus who are in tasked to assess this question as promoters of Growth.

Since 1910 in Denmark, IWD has been internationally recognized as the day to honor women in our society as they play a great role in the shaping and building of the society we live in today. World Scoutings Secretary General, Luc Panissod had the pleasure of meeting with Curacao's Prime Minister, Mrs Emily de Jongh-Elhage during a visit to the Interamerican Scout Region. He was accompanied by a delegation of Scouting Antiano, Frensel Lacruz, Chief Commissioner, Regis Mercera President, Scouting Antiano, Daniel Corsen Secretary, Scouting Antiano and Daniel Corsen Jr Youth Advisor for the Interamerican Region.
In January, 2010, Ten Young men and women from all over the country gathered for two weekends for the first time in Costa Rica to explore, respond and take action within the Scouts of the World Award.
After the commemoration of February 22, Founders day, which saw millions of Scouts get together think, remember and pay respects to the Founder of the Movement. We propose to continue in debating on the cause of Scouting by reacting to the following themes: Education in Love, Education in Peace, Education of Boys and Girls and Learning by Doing.

José Filipe Sousa, a young Leader of AEP - Portuguese Scout Association, was elected President of the Portuguese National Youth Council (CNJ) in the General Assembly held on 6-7 February.
In September 2009, a total of 938 official National Scout Organization (NSO) representatives registered in the WOSM directory were invited to participate in an electronic survey to rate the level of satisfaction with the services provided by WOSM to NSOs. For the sole purpose of this survey "WOSM services" were referred to as comprising "the work of volunteer committees and the World Scout Bureau Central and Regional Offices". This was an initiative from the World Scout Committee (WSC) supported by the Strategy Coordination Group (SCG), which fitted directly into the first of the commitments which the Secretary General, had expressed since taking up his position: "to develop a customer oriented mentality to better serve NSOs".
