World Health Day 2005
April, 2005
This year World Health Day will focus on maternal and child health. Millions of mothers and children still die needlessly in pregnancy, childbirth and the first years of life.
It is an occasion to raise awareness of this tragedy, and to underline the efforts needed by all of us to ensure life and good health. It is a unique opportunity to tell the world that there are available and achievable solutions.
The World Health Organization, with which the World Scout Organization has an active working relationship, anticipates having hundreds of high-profile events around the globe.
We encourage National Scout Organizations to contact the WHO office in their country to see if there are ways to join in the actions for World Health Day.
