World Scout Challenge - JOTI 2008: Environment

In order to complete the World Scout Challenge – JOTI 2008 on Environment you should:

  1. Create a small Scout group composed of 3 – 8 Scouts (Scout Patrol, Rover Teams, groups of friends, etc).
  2. Answer together the questions below.
  3. Register and go to the chat channels on ScoutLink (more info at www.joti.org) during the JOTI.
  4. Find another small Scout group from a neighbour country working on the Environment questions.
  5. Between your small Scout group and the group your found (this is now called a wider group), share your original answers and then agreed on one common answer for each question.
  6. Then go back to ScoutLink and find out another wider group from another continent and share your answers and agree in a final answer for each question.
  7. Finally fill out the questionnaire following the link below with the information of the small groups and the final answers.
  8. Once the information is received you will received an international electronic certificate.

1. What is the best activity to do outdoors?

2. What are some threats to our environment?

3. What causes global warming?

4. If we immediately stopped emitting greenhouse gases, would global warming stop?

5. What might the environment look like in 30 years?

6. What is the most important thing Scouts can do to protect our environment now and for the future?
