East Africa: The stage is set for a memorable 2nd Zonal Youth Forum

In a bid to gather and share ideas, the 2nd Eastern Africa Zonal Youth Forum is set to take place in Nairobi Kenya. The forum will be held at Rowallan National Scouts Training Centre in Nairobi which hosts the National Headquarters for Kenya Scouts & the World Scout Bureau Africa Regional Office. This venue is ear-marked to host the 2010 World Rover Moot if it meets the requirements.
The Forum is set for the 8th – 11th December 2007 as 8th will be the arrival date and 11th will be the departure date. The theme will be: Scouts Creating a Better World – “Youth’s for Peace & empowerment”
Participants age bracket: 19years -30 years
Forum fees: Scouts $45, other Youth Organizations $50

At the same venue and time the Eastern Africa Zonal inter-patrol competitions will be taking place having 24 teams from the zone, 4 teams from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda & Ethiopia. The competition close down the curtains on 12th December 2007. Each country will send 2 assessors a male & a female to the assessing panel but Rwanda, Ethiopia & Burundi will send 1 each as this is their first time to attend the competitions
Lastly, after the Youth Forum the Zonal Scouts Conference will be held from the 10th December at Garden Hotel Machakos which is about 65 Kilometers from the city of Nairobi. The conference is aimed at discussing issues affecting Eastern Africa and consider recommendations and resolutions from the Youth Forum. The Contact person for the Zonal Scouts Conference is:
