Training Commissioners, 40 of them from 20 countries and 23 national Scout and Guide associations met for the third time from 13 to 15 January 2011. The aim of the Meeting was to offer a motivating and informative opportunity for experts in the field of volunteering and youth leaders training to share experiences and learn from each other.

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Supporting Growth in Changing Times - Membership Report 2011. As you will be aware, ‘Supporting Growth in Changing Times’ is the overarching theme of the Regional Scout Plan that was adopted by National Scout Organisations during the 20th European Scout Conference in Brussels, Belgium, in July 2010. Therefore we have made analysis of membership data during the last triennium. It is worth noting that extracting membership data from NSOs can be quite challenging. Whilst some have the data readily available, others do not, citing lack of membership management systems or not wishing to provide figures that might contradict.

As in previous years, a full, comprehensive overview of seminars and events – with supporting documentation on aims and objectives – will be distributed in the new year and, of course individual invitations to the events will be distributed at the appropriate time on www.europak-online.net.

Volunteers in the lead’ aims to provide a space for Chief Volunteers and young volunteers to meet, to network, and to share good practice and ideas both within and between the two groups. This event is supported by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Union.

ScoThe next North South Network meeting is also known as the Partnerships Event. It will take place in Paris, 15-18 March 2012. The meeting will gather all partners from the European, Eurasia, Africa, Asia and Eurasia Regions and provide a frame for discussions and exchanges and give fresh impetus to ongoing partnership projects and hopefully trigger new ones.
The meeting is co-organised by Scouts et Guides de France on behalf of the North South Network and the European Scout Region.

It is our great pleasure to introduce this Annual Report of the European Scout Committee’s work covering the period July 2010 to July 2011.

In the report, you can have a look back at the progress made since the 20th European Scout Conference in Brussels, Belgium, covering both the successes and challenges. As well as providing perspectives from the European Scout Committee, the European Regional Office and the European Scout Foundation, for the first time in the Annual Report of the European Scout Committee we have updates from our five Working Groups and three Core Groups.

The European Scout Region has made available a basic registration software system originally developed by Lietuvos Skautija, Lithuanian Scouting. The system is free for National Scout Organisations who are interested in using it.

Here you will find information on over 200 national Scout centres throughout Europe: places which can host you and your group, either in buildings or in tents, and which can also provide you with assistance (and usually material) to help you organize your camp activities. Notes - Application Form
