Scouts of the World Workshop held in Thailand

World Scout Bureau organized for the first time the Scouts of the World Workshop on 28-31 May 2007 at the Vajiravudh Scout Camp in Thailand. The aim of the workshop is to share with National Scout Organizations the technical process of developing the Scouts of the World programme as a way of revitalizing the Senior and Rover sections for 15 to 26 year-old members. Countries represented were Bhutan, Republic of China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand for a total of 42 participants.

The workshop explained the concept of the Scouts of the World Programme and its elements such as the Scouts of the World Award, Scouts of the World Discovery, Scouts of the World Voluntary Service, Scouts of the World Partnership, and support structures. Supporting the workshop were APR Programme Sub-Committee chairman Mari Nakano, Sub-Committee member Julie Creed, APR Committee Chairman Eric Khoo, Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed and World Scout Bureau executives Andres Morales, Syd Castillo and Myrna Calderon.
