First conference preparatory meeting held
The first preparatory meeting of the 23rd APR Scout Conference held from 24-25 March 2008 in Kuala Lumpur with the presence of the key people both from the regional office and the host National Scout Organization.
The meeting was attended by the the key officials of Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia (PPM) led by new Chief Commissioner Dato' Kaharudin, Host Committee Chairman Mr Eric Khoo together with Hon. Dato Mohamed Sharom Osman, Secretary General of Malaysian Parliamentarian Scout Association and Datu Aziz Jamaludin Tahir, Executive Committee Member, WSB/APR Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed and Director Mr S. Prassanna.
This first meeting has provided an opportunity for the Host Organizing Committee and the Bureau to discuss the preparation and logistics of the 23rd APR Scout Conference discussing important items like conference organization and responsibilities, theme, logo and mascot, agenda and budget. The team also visited the proposed venue of the conference in Kuala Lumpur and the two anciliary events, APR Scout Youth Forum and Course for Leader Trainers in Malaka.
The 2009 regional conference is scheduled from 27th October to 1 November 2009 in the city of Kuala Lumpur.
