SAM runs Ticket to Life project

Being the latest national Scout organization joining the Ticket to Life project, the Scout Association of Mongolia is now running a street children Scout group in Ulanbaataar starting August this year.

Presently, it has 32 members comprised of 18 boys and 14 girls ranging from 8 to 14 years of age under the guidance of Mr Ariunbold Buuveibaatar as the unit leader who regularly holds Scouting activities in a school located in Ulanbaataar.

Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed, in his recent trip to Mongolia, visited the street children and has been told of the significant behavioural changes on the children for a short span of time.

Ticket to Life project is now on its second year receiving assistance from APR Scout Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, Queen Sylvia Fund, Scout Association of Japan, Scouts of Canada and Scout Association of Hong Kong. The second evaluation workshop will be held in Nepal this November is expected to gather the Project Co-ordinators and some of Unit Leaders from the eight countries including Mongolia.
