Community Based Scouting
One of the strategic priorities of APR Plan 2009-2012 identified by the Asia-Pacific Region is “Community.” This strategic priority identifies the importance of extending Scout membership beyond schools, thereby creating a closer relationship with the community and at the same time aiming for membership growth.
Recognising the crucial impact of Scouting on community, the Asia-Pacific Regional Office is supporting all NSOs with following materials that may be helpful in developing Community-Based Scouting available for downloading:

Following up on the Community-Based Scouting (CBS) news in Asia-Pacific Region, we are happy to revert to you with an update on what's coming up. We are always interested to see that initiatives and projects you are conducting in your respective NSO on CBS are showing progress and yielding results. We have several updates that we would like to share with you to support the implementation of the Community-Based Scouting (CBS). To begin with, the CBS Workshop was conducted from 27 to 30 May 2010 in Davao, the Philippines and many actions were undertaken by the World Scout Bureau, Asia-Pacific Regional Office to ensure the implementation of the programme.

It is now time to go beyond the hour and show what can be done by the Scouts for the planet.
