Supporting the Scout Movement in Jordan
H.E. Dr. Taysser Al Ne'amy, Jordanian Minister of Education held a meeting with Dr. Atif Abdelmageed, Arab Scout Regional Director, to discuss the preparations for the 10th Arab Scout Gathering for Executives of Health Awareness in the Arab Scout Organizations. During the said meeting, Dr. Al Ne'amy confirmed that the Ministry is working hard for the protection of youth health according to the personal instructions of H.H. King of Jordan. He also declared that the Ministry has introduced the Prize of King Abdullah for Physical Fitness in all the schools of Jordan and put emphasis on the distinguished efforts exerted by H.E. Princess Passma Bent Talal, Chairwoman of the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, for the implantation of Scouting objectives and programs.
The Jordanian Minister of Education stressed the importance of scouting and guiding activities in positively affecting the scout to play a constructive role in society. He also appreciated the cultural role of the scout movement which makes youth much more aware of the challenges facing them.
On his part, Dr. Atif Abdelmageed, Arab Scout Regional Director, highlighted the co-operation between the Arab Scout Regional Office and the relevant organizations for the promotion of youth programs. Moreover, he appreciated the effective participation of the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides in the Arab and international scout activities in addition to hosting a number of important scout events. He also stressed the magnitude of the Jordanian wide experience in the field of youth development.
It is worthy mentioning that Mr. Fathi Farghali, Director of Community Development and Service Department in the Arab Scout Regional Office, and Dr. Abla Abu Nawar, Director of Educational Activities in the Jordanian Ministry of Education, attended the said meeting.
