The Phoenix Project

In line with the launch of the tree plantation campaign, two hundred scouts representing all the associations composing the Scout Federation of Lebanon participated in the "Phoenix" project for the re-greening of Lebanon through planting one million trees.

Under the auspices and with the attendance of Dr. Atif Abdelmageed, Arab Scout Regional Director, and Mr. Mustafa Abdel Rasoul, Chairman of the Scout Federation of Lebanon, the activities of the campaign started with a ceremony organized in the Liberation Hall in Bent Jabil, South Lebanon. This ceremony was also attended by scout executives in the Scout Federation of Lebanon and the constituent scout associations in addition to representatives of NGOs working in the field of environmental protection.

The participants discussed the "Phoenix" project, presented by the Scout Federation of Lebanon, on calling scouts worldwide to contribute to the re-construction of Lebanon after the damage that harmed forests and environment in South Lebanon. The campaign will continue to include other areas in Lebanon with the assistance of scouts belonging to the twenty eight scout associations forming the Scout Federation of Lebanon.
