The Africa Regional Office (ARO) vows to save life

On 15th May, a life saving training course kicked-off at the Africa Regional Office.
All the staff members, participated in a Red Cross led training programme.

It is due to the importance of First Aid skills that the Regional Director ARO, Mrs Rubina Marivonne Haroon, gave a green light to the course in favour of all the staff members.
The training programme was coordinated by the Area Commissioner for Lang'ata, Kenya Scouts Association, Mr. Jonathan Omondi. Mr. Omondi acted as a link between the Kenya Red Cross Society and ARO. Thanks to him, the society was made aware of the interest the Regional Office has in acquiring these vital skills. The training is being conducted by First Aid Instructors from Kenya Red Cross Society-Nairobi Branch.
ARO staff opted for the elaborate Community Based First Aid. This training that takes 40hours and will end on 30th-31st May, the 1st Phase having been completed on the 15th-16th of May. At the end of the training the staff will be equipped with knowledge and skills in Basic First Aid Principles, Managing various injuries, Emergency Accident Scene Management and skills applied in emergency child birth among other vital skills that will enable the staff to serve the community better.
