Dr. Laszlo Nagy of Geneva, Switzerland became Secretary-General of the World Scout Organization May 1, 1968. Mr. Nagy was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1921, and it was while growing up there that he discovered Scouting and went on to become Assistant Scoutmaster. One of the highlights of his Scouting experience was to attend the 4th World Scout Jamboree held in Gödöllő, Hungary in 1933. Nearly 26,000 Scouts attended that event.

Dr. Eduardo Missoni (born 1954), was Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from April 2004 to November 2007. Dr. Missoni made his Scout Promise more than forty years ago, on the 7th July, 1965. Ever since then he has strived to live up to this promise in his daily life. Eduardo was actively involved in Scouting as a boy, and later as an adult Scout leader in Italy. He proudly says that Scouting has shaped his life, and he strongly believes that Scouts today can make real changes to create a better world.

Jacques Moreillon was Secretary General of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement from 1988 - 2004. He was born in Vevey (Vaud, Switzerland) in 1939. He is married and has two sons. Bilingual French and English, he also speaks Spanish, German and Portuguese. After his baccalauréat in Lausanne in 1957, he spent a year in the USA, where he graduated from the Choate School (Wallingford, Connecticut) with a scholarship from the AFS (American Field Service).
