The Interamerican Scout Committee informs about the study of location of the regional headquarters

At its last meeting in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, 11 and 12 October 2008, the members of the Interamerican Scout Committee analyzed the technical report that the ISC requested to the consulting company EurAudit International, in order to make a comparison between the characteristics that three cities in the Continent could offer to the location of the regional headquarters.

This study was requested in order to fulfil the resolution made by the 23rd Interamerican Scout Conference, held in Quito, Ecuador, in November 2007. By that resolution, the Interamerican Scout Committee was asked to prepare a feasibility study to examine the advantages of maintaining the present location or moving to a new one. According the request of the ISC, the consulting company EurAudit International focused the study in the comparison of the characteristics of a location in San José (Costa Rica), Panama City (Panama) or keeping it in Santiago (Chile). The report is totally available for all the National Scout Organizations and people who wish to know its content.

In fulfillment of the said resolution of the regional Conference, the ISC sent a copy of the study to the Secretary General of WOSM, Mr. Luc Panissod, and they will formally request his consideration of this issue, considering that location of any headquarters of the World Scout Bureau is a decision of the Secretary General.
