Volunteers met for the Kandersteg Weekend
WOSM - European Region continued the tradition of a January working weekend for volunteers supporting regional work to provide coordination, motivation and insight into the future regional activities. The most recent was 25-27 January.
Members of most Groups and Units had some time for work in their specific areas. Most of the programme of the weekend was set aside for transversal work, to encourage greater understanding of Quality, a topic highlighted in the fulfillment of the Regional Plan. Work was undertaken on definitions and general meaning, Quality in Scouting, the impact at national Scout association level and possible Regional support. The European Scout Committee will use the results to inform its work and actions for the future.
During the same weekend, the WAGGGS working groups met at "Our Chalet", in Adelboden. For the Saturday afternoon , they joined us at Kandersteg to develop ways in which the Joint Actions agreed by the Joint Conference could be achieved. We rounded off the day with a communal cheese fondue meal together.
The outcomes of all the work will inform the work of both Regional Committees and the very positive atmosphere promise to be a good start to achieving our objectives in an effective and enjoyable way.
