Africa Scout Committee meets in Nairobi
NAIROBI - From 31 May to 2 June 2008, the Africa Scout Committee met in Nairobi, at the Africa Regional Office. Present at the meeting was Luc Panissod, Acting WOSM Secretary General; Rubina Haroon, Regional Director and most of the committee members, namely: Marcel Blaguet (Chairman), Jeremy Naivasha (Treasurer), Dr Jabulani Allen Muchado, Rodgers Mfunwa Lukhele, Christopher L. Mbanga and Jemima N. Nartey.
Items on the agenda included, among others:
- Current situation of Scouting in Africa
- Finances in the region
- Communications in the region
- Global Scouting issues
Other matters included, discussion on the upcoming World Scout Conference in Korea and the 2009 Africa Scout Conference in Botswana. The next committee meeting is scheduled for July in Korea.
